Recovered from the 1973 Sector 7-P interior catalog, originally spec'd for habitat common areas where greenery and ambient light were considered essential to crew morale. Reissued without modification.

20 in full height, lit or unlit. 10 in dome. 2.2 lbs, or 2.6 lbs lit. Opaque ABS hemispheres, top and bottom. Gold-colored chain and S-hooks. Three-point suspension, balanced for a level hang.

The domes are opaque by specification. The fitting sends its light straight down through the 10 in aperture instead of scattering it sideways, so you get a pool of warmth on the surface below and no bare bulb in your sightline. E26 socket. Standard, Edison filament or grow bulbs, up to 150W. Suitable for 110/220V.

Hang it trailing a pothos or a string of pearls. Above a kitchen island, a reading chair, a workstation that needs atmosphere. The no-light configuration installs in a single rotation from the central hook. No electrician.

Bulb and botanical specimens not included. Pairs with the Atomic Space Age Specimen for a complete Sector 7-P installation.

Integrated Light Fitting

The domes are opaque ABS, and that is the specification rather than a compromise. Light leaves through the 10 in lower aperture only, directed down onto the surface beneath: ambient, pooled, alive, with no bare bulb in the sightline. The 1973 original was spec'd for exactly this, crew habitat areas requiring atmosphere as much as illumination. E26 standard fitting, bulb max 150W. Compatible with standard bulbs, Edison filament, or grow bulbs for light-sensitive specimens.

How It Hangs

Three gold-colored chains hold the two domes apart at a fixed gap, so the plant spills through. They are structural, not the suspension.

No Light: hangs from a hook at the dome apex on a 2 ft ceiling chain. Ceiling hook, wall anchors and cord hook included. Installs in a single rotation from the central hook. No electrician.

With Light: carried by a pre-installed 14 ft plug-in cord with an inline on/off rocker switch and a flat two-prong US plug. It reaches a standard outlet and needs no wiring. Swag hook included, to carry the cord across the ceiling. Suitable for 110/220V mains. Outside the US, fit a plug adapter and a bulb rated for local voltage.

Drop length adjustable to suit the personal habitat.

Designed to pair with the Atomic Space Age Habitat Module as part of a complete Sector 7-P installation. Does the Pendant Planter need an electrician?

No. The With Light version plugs into a standard wall outlet, and a swag hook is included to carry the cord across the ceiling. The No Light version hangs from the included ceiling hook and chain.

What bulb does the Pendant Planter take?

Any E26 standard screw-base bulb up to 150W, including standard, Edison filament and grow bulbs. The bulb is not included.

Can I use the lit Pendant Planter outside the US?

Yes. It is suitable for 110/220V. Every lit unit ships with a US two-prong plug, so outside the US use a plug adapter and a bulb rated for your local voltage.

How long is the cord?

About 14 ft in total: 3.8 m from the dome to the inline switch, then 0.4 m from the switch to the plug.

How big is the Pendant Planter?

20 in (50.8 cm) tall, measured from the top of the hanging fitting to the bottom of the bowl. The dome is 10 in (25.4 cm) across with a 10 in planting opening. It weighs 2.2 lb without light and 2.6 lb with light.

My gallery wall is a mix of colorful crewels I hand-stitched myself plus vintage pieces I've collected over the years and the Potifiv hanging planter fits right into that retro world like it was made for it. The style, the proportions, the way it hangs all perfect. I have it paired with faux plants (zero shame, I keep it real ??) and it still looks completely intentional and beautiful. So pretty and I love that I can put a grow light in it. My plant is a happy little camper!!!

I ordered 3 Pendant Planters to Germany. The quality and design is as good as expected. However the shipping was really unfortunate as every planter came in a single parcel, so I had to pay customs for every parcel which was almost 30€ extra instead of just 9.50€ as expected.

These hanging planters look amazing, but they're essentially just two pieces of half plastic and chains. And they aren't very good chains at that. For the cost, they should make the hooks that attach everything together more stable. Perhaps they should have a clasp to ensure they stay closed. If you so much as breathe funny close to your hanging planter, the hook will come loose and your plant will come tumbling down.
